The Challenge:
In ‘High-level Access’ cleaning, anything over the height of 200m can present its own set of logistical challenges. In this case, the world’s tallest tower, standing at 828 meters above ground also posed new level of weather challenges in addition to restrictions due to it being a working construction site The Burj’s BMUs could not handle this mammoth task, and rope access hooks could not be used due to the fact it was still under construction

The Solution:
Our solution consisted of utilizing specialized rope access equipment specific for building sites, operated by highly skilled IRATA* trained personnel, coupled with access machines thereby achieving complete and thorough access of the 828 meter high façade.
High-pressure washing and other deep cleaning methods to clean the tough post construction residue and debris were also employed.
Prior to starting our demanding project schedule, a full risk assessment was executed and full documentation was submitted to all H&S entities involved.
The Result:
Thanks to our excellent project management and complex scheduling, comprehensive cleaning of Burj Khalifa was achieved with the utmost quality, within the time provided to us by the client. While all budgets, environmental and H&S objectives being met to our client’s satisfaction.
